ASCEND and Vitel support the IsarOpen several times

Follow games via live stream on your smartphone, tablet or laptop and access all the latest news online in real time: Thanks to WAN bonding solutions from THE VItel GmbH-supported ASCEND GmbH, both of which have also been involved as sponsors, the Isar Open, which has now been held for the first time, has also become an exciting live experience for all tennis fans.
Under the name IsarOpen, the new ATP Challenger tennis tournament in Großhesselohe near Pullach premiered from 6 to 12 August 2018. A total of 32 singles players and 16 men’s doubles played the tournament victory in exciting duels at the gates of Munich. The Portuguese Pedro Sousa (30) finally prevailed against the well-known German tennis pro Jan-Lennard Struff (28) in the individual competition. AS a partner of the organizer, ASCEND GmbH from Nuremberg and Vitel GmbH from Unterschleißheim ensured that the visitors of the tournament were informed comprehensively and in real-time about each turn as well as all other events on the Pullacher Straße.
This was made possible by the so-called (SD) WAN bonding, with which all digitally available information can be retrieved on a wide range of mobile devices regardless of the respective connection technology. The hardware and software service providers not only made it possible for all guests to access the Internet nationwide using Wi-Fi hotspots on the event grounds. Ascend GmbH also installed software that allows data transmissions via xDSL, MPLS, mobile phone, or fiber optics to appear on the mobile display of their choice for all users. Thanks to the sponsors, the user was able to continue surfing unhindered, without interruptions, despite switching to other networks. This is because the various sources ensure smooth reception at all times.

How SD-WAN helped

Thanks to SD-WAN bonding by ASCEND and Vitel, tennis fans were able to follow exciting ball changes on other courts via live stream and got to know about the diverse accompanying program on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram – from the Players Party or Kids Day to the Latino Night or the original Bavarian breakfast on the final day. However, the Nuremberg-based company not only supported the tennis event by providing technical equipment but also appeared as a sponsor of the event together with the partner Vitel GmbH. Thus, Vitel and especially ASCEND helped in many ways to launch a new, attractive sporting event in the Munich area, which will surely inspire tennis fans in the years to come.

IsarOpen
In February 2017, the idea arose to organize an ATP Challenger tournament in Munich. The TC Großhesselohe was quickly found as a partner who has produced such well-known tennis greats as Sylvia Hanika and Tommy Haas. In November 2017, a representative of the ATP visited the facility and approved the holding of the tournament, which took place for the first time from 6 to 12 August 2018 with great public interest.
