Why guest access makes sense
Security and friendliness need not be mutually exclusive. You must not let your guests into your own network under any circumstances. Your data is too valuable for this. On the other hand, your customers are too valuable not to offer you anything. The solution is to have your own network in your guest Wi-Fi network. This allows visitors to go online without accessing your personal or business data.
How a guest Wi-Fi system works technically
The internal traffic and traffic of the guests differ from each other and is marked from the beginning. Devices (routers, access points, switches…) are configured according to rules. As a result, the data streams only reach the desired locations. So whoever is in the guest Wi-Fi has access only to the Internet and not to internal resources.
Use your guest Wi-Fi for yourself
If you choose to offer public Wi-Fi, you can also let it work for you. Name the SSID (the name that will be broadcast) according to your wishes. The guest should know who is “donating” the WLAN. You can also present your company at login and advertise yourself.
Tracking visitor flow
For this feature, you need multiple access points within wireless range of the terminals to be tracked.
If you want to know where how many of your visitors are and what paths they go then you can do that too. It is even possible to locate individual devices in case children or seniors are lost, for example. Please note the legal situation.

Operator security through VPN routing
Your guests’ traffic runs through our servers. Thus, in the event of abuse, Ascend is the contact person and not you.

You can also decide to limit access to only those who pays for it. Generate tickets and sell them. You specify how long someone can be online, how much data can be used, and how many devices someone can go online with simultaneously.
Security II
If they have devices like cameras, smart refrigerators, heating controls, etc. which require a permanent Internet connection, these should also be connected to the Wi-Fi for guests. If they are hacked, the attackers will not be able to automatically access your sensitive data.
