High bandwidths are always part of the requirements for event streaming or livestreams. And it certainly doesn't get any easier when conventional networks reach their spatial or technological limits.
In these cases, bonding multiple networks with our SD-WAN technology is extremely valuable!
At our latest setup, for a long-established company in Ulm, the roofscape was dominated by 4 LTE networks from 3 different providers, transmitted via 4 directional radio antennas mounted on four different masts.
Fail-safe streaming
To make the streaming additionally fail-safe, the data packets were sent to an external server and distributed from there. For this purpose, ASCEND provided a Peplink MAX HD4 MBX router with two switches as a high-availability setup.
As soon as a line deteriorated — i.e. became unsuitable for transmitting video and audio signals — it was automatically and without interruption excluded from the transmission.
Once it became suitable again, it was automatically and without interruption reintegrated into the transmission. Many thanks to Production Office TV & Event Design GmbH from Vienna for the excellent collaboration on this and many other events over recent years.
