- Speedtest port 3000
Our speed test can be used for various line types up to 2 Gbit/s.
We use the software from https://openspeedtest.com, which is operated on our servers .
The need for our own speed test arose from the fact that other speed tests were simply too short for the characteristics of the bonding routers and could not reliably measure bandwidths of 1 Gbit/s or more.
For this reason, we have installed our own speed test server on our high-performance servers, which are redundantly connected with 10 Gbit/s fiber optics, and which we make available to you here free of charge.
The behavior of the speed test can be adapted to requirements using various parameters
To do this, a “?” must be added after the URL and the parameters passed.
Here are a few common default settings as links.
More detailed explanations of the parameters follow below.
Port 80, 6 streams, each approx. 12 seconds long, for all line types |
|
Port 3000, 6 streams, each lasting approx. 12 seconds, for all line types |
|
Port 80, 6 streams, each approx. 60 seconds long, suitable for trunking routers |
|
Port 3000, 6 streams, each lasting approx. 60 seconds, suitable for trunking routers |
|
Port 80, 1 stream, each approx. 60 seconds long, suitable for trunking routers |
|
Port 3000, 1 stream, each approx. 60 seconds long, suitable for trunking routers |
http://speedtest.ascend.de is the standard call, which runs on port 80 and tests the upload and download speed for approx. 12 seconds each.
Alternatively, port 3000 can be used: http://speedtest.ascend.de:3000
If http://speedtest.ascend.de:3000 is the url displayed on the server, you must add “?Stress=Low” or “?S=L” at the end of the URL.
Now the URL looks like this.
http://speedtest.ascend.de:3000?Stress=Low or http://speedtest.ascend.de:3000?S=L
With Stress=Low or S=L, a speed test is carried out for 5 minutes (300 seconds) for upload and download.
Stress=Medium or S=M performs a speed test for 10 minutes (600 seconds) for upload and download.
Stress=High or S=H performs a speed test for 15 minutes (900 seconds) for upload and download.
Stress=VeryHigh or S=V performs a speed test for 30 minutes (1800 seconds) for upload and download.
Stress=Extreme or S=E performs a speed test for 60 minutes (3600 seconds) for upload and download.
Stress=Day or S=D performs a speed test for one day (86400 seconds) for upload and download.
Stress=Year or S=Y performs a speed test for one year (31557600 seconds) for upload and download.
or you can enter “Stress=5000” or “S=5000”, in which case a speed test is carried out for 5000 seconds or another number of your choice.
Automatic start of a speed test.
If you want to start the test automatically without clicking on the “Start” button, add the keyword “run” or “r” as a URL parameter.
http://speedtest.ascend.de:3000?run or http://speedtest.ascend.de:3000?R
If you want to start the test after a certain time, enter the time in seconds.
Example: If I want to perform a speed test after 45 seconds
http://speedtest.ascend.de:3000?run=45
If I stress for 300 seconds and want to start a speed test without clicking on the “Start” button.
http://speedtest.ascend.de:3000?R&S=300 or http://speedtest.ascend.de:3000?Run&Stress=300
Perform a specific test.
(Download, upload or ping.)
If you want to perform an upload test, you can pass “Test=Upload” or “T=U” as the URL parameter.
You can perform a download test with “Test=Download” or “T=D” or a ping test with “Test=Ping” or “T=P” as follows.
Specify the number of ping samples by adding “Ping” or “P” as a URL parameter
http://speedtest.ascend.de?Ping=500 OR http://speedtest.ascend.de?p=500
More samples mean a more accurate display.
Ping=500 sends 501 requests to the server to determine the exact ping value.
Change the default limit of 6 parallel http connections to the server by adding “XHR” or “X” as URL parameter
http://speedtest.ascend.de?Xhr=1 OR http://speedtest.ascend.de?X=1
6 is the usual limit for most browsers.
XHR accepts values above 1 and a maximum of 32
Set a ping timeout dynamically by passing “Out” or “o” as a URL parameter
http://speedtest.ascend.de?Out=7000 OR http://speedtest.ascend.de?O=7000
If the server does not respond to the requests we send (‘pingSamples’ times) within 5 seconds, a network error is displayed, which you can change here.
In milliseconds if you need to set 6 seconds.
Change the value to 6000.
Deactivate or change the overhead compensation factor.
http://speedtest.ascend.de?Clean or http://speedtest.ascend.de?C
Overhead compensation factor, this is a browser-based test, many unknowns.
Currently 4%.
This is within the margin of error.
You can pass “Clean” or “C” as the URL parameter and set the overhead compensation factor to zero or set any value between 0 and 4.
1 = 1% to 4 = 4%.
“Clean” does not accept values above 4, so the compensation is limited to a maximum of 4%.
General information
Firefox is not recommended for stress tests over 10 minutes or speeds over 2.5 Gbps.
Browser extensions can negatively impact latency reports and overall performance.
Try running a speed test in incognito mode or with a browser without extensions.
Chrome, Edge, Safari, Opera, Brave, etc. can reach 10 Gbps+ and perform continuous speed tests for hours or even days.
Incognito mode or a browser without extensions is recommended for more accurate results.
